Golf in Red Lodge

Red Lodge is a Carbon County ski town and gateway to the Beartooth Highway — the switchback-and-plateau mountain road that connects the Yellowstone Valley to Yellowstone National Park's northeast entrance via some of the most dramatic scenery in the American West. Red Lodge Mountain Golf Course plays at the base of the Beartooth Range, where the mountains rise so abruptly that the course's visual frame is entirely vertical. The ski resort, the brewpubs, and the summer music festival give Red Lodge a recreation-oriented identity that the golf course fits naturally. The Beartooth Highway is passable only in summer, which concentrates the town's energy into an intense recreational season.
