Golf in Bald Head Island

Bald Head Island is a barrier island in Brunswick County, accessible only by ferry from Southport at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. The island sits at the southernmost tip of Brunswick County's coastline, facing Frying Pan Shoals, and is notable for its car-free environment, extensive maritime forest, the Smith Island complex of barrier islands, and Old Baldy lighthouse, the oldest standing lighthouse in North Carolina.
