Golf in Henderson

Henderson is the county seat of Vance County, in the NC Piedmont near the Virginia border. The city is on the U.S. 1 corridor northeast of Durham, between the Triangle and the Virginia state line, in the upper Piedmont terrain along the Tar River watershed. John H. Kerr Reservoir — known locally as Buggs Island Lake — is a large recreation reservoir nearby that straddles the NC-Virginia border, drawing fishing and boating activity to the Henderson area. Vance County and Henderson are in the northeastern Piedmont fringe, historically associated with tobacco and textile manufacturing.
