Golf in Wilkesboro

Wilkesboro is one of two incorporated towns in Wilkes County, along with North Wilkesboro, in the NC Piedmont foothills along the Yadkin River. Wilkes County is in the northern Piedmont foothills below the Blue Ridge, anchored by the twin towns of Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro on either side of the Yadkin. The county is known for its moonshining heritage, NASCAR origins tied to bootlegging runs, and the MerleFest music festival held annually in Wilkesboro. The Yadkin River valley through Wilkes County is one of the more distinctive corridors in the NC Piedmont foothills.
