Golf in Carroll Valley

Carroll Valley is a borough in Adams County along the South Mountain ridge, in the ski resort area near Fairfield where Liberty Mountain Resort has operated ski facilities since the 1960s. The South Mountain — the Pennsylvania extension of the Blue Ridge — rises sharply from the Adams County farmland, and Carroll Valley's elevation and wooded character make it a four-season recreational destination. The Eisenhower farm, where Dwight Eisenhower retired after his presidency, lies a few miles north in Gettysburg — Adams County's most famous address after the battlefield. Carroll Valley's year-round residents are a mix of retirees, outdoor recreation enthusiasts, and commuters to Waynesboro and Chambersburg in Franklin County. Golf in this mountain-adjacent community occupies the flatter ground at the ridge's base, where the terrain transitions from the valley farmland to the forested slopes.
