Golf in Georgetown

Georgetown is the county seat of Georgetown County, a historic port city at the head of Winyah Bay, where the Great Pee Dee, Black, Sampit, Waccamaw, and Pee Dee rivers converge. Founded in 1729, Georgetown was one of the most significant rice-producing ports in colonial America, and the surrounding Georgetown County Lowcountry retains the rice-field impoundments and plantation landscape of the antebellum era. Georgetown County is one of the primary coastal golf corridors in SC, with courses concentrated along the Waccamaw Neck between the city and the Grand Strand to the north.
