Golf in Alcoa

Alcoa is a Blount County city in the foothills just south of Maryville, built around the aluminum manufacturing complex that gave it both its name and its industrial identity. Though the industry has contracted, the infrastructure and community remain, and Alcoa sits in a geographically compelling position — the Appalachian foothills rise immediately to the east, the Tennessee River lies to the west, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park entrance is less than thirty miles up the valley. Neighboring Maryville and Alcoa share schools and economic fabric, and together they form the southern Knoxville metro anchor. The Blue Ridge foothills terrain gives area courses varied character with mountain views, and the mild lower-elevation climate extends the playing season compared to the higher Smokies communities.
