Golf in Cleveland

Cleveland is the seat of Bradley County, anchoring the southern end of the Tennessee Valley between the Ridge and Valley province to the east and the Cumberland Plateau escarpment to the west. Lee University, a Church of God institution with a substantial enrollment, gives the city an academic dimension uncommon for a city of its size in rural Appalachia. The Hiwassee River enters Bradley County from the east through the Polk County copper basin corridor, and the Ocoee River — famous for its whitewater and its role as the 1996 Olympic venue — lies just to the southeast. Cleveland's position between Chattanooga and the mountains means it captures both the influence of the larger metro to its south and the outdoor recreation economy of the Cherokee National Forest to its east.
