Jay has 1 golf course — 1 public.
Jay is a small Northeast Kingdom town in Franklin County, best known as the home of Jay Peak Resort, Vermont's snowiest ski destination and the northernmost major ski area in the eastern United States. The resort's proximity to Quebec — just a few miles from the Canadian border — has historically brought large numbers of Quebec skiers to Jay's exceptional snow conditions. The surrounding Kingdom landscape is among the most remote in Vermont, with boreal forests, beaver ponds, and working farmsteads defining the terrain between Jay and the nearest commercial centers in Newport and St. Johnsbury. The Jay-Westfield section of the Long Trail traverses the high terrain near Jay Peak, and the area's wilderness character remains largely intact despite the resort's substantial infrastructure investment.
