Golf in Windsor

Windsor is a Connecticut River valley town in Windsor County, historically known as the Birthplace of Vermont, where the Vermont Constitution was adopted on July 8, 1777 at Elijah West's tavern. The American Precision Museum occupies the former Windsor mill complex and celebrates the interchangeable parts manufacturing techniques pioneered here, which transformed American industry in the nineteenth century. Windsor's position on the Connecticut River, at the long covered bridge spanning to Cornish, New Hampshire, creates a natural historical landmark. The town's working-class manufacturing heritage distinguishes it from the resort and academic communities of southern Vermont. The Constitution House, where Vermont's founding document was signed, is preserved as a Vermont State Historic Site and draws visitors interested in the political history of the state's founding as an independent republic before joining the Union in 1791.
