Tulare Golf and Country Club

Tulare Golf and Country Club sits in the Matheny area near Tulare in Tulare County in the southern San Joaquin Valley. Matheny is a community in the rural agricultural terrain of Tulare County west of the Tulare city limits, in the flat valley floor between Tulare and Hanford. Tulare is a major agricultural city in Tulare County known for cattle, dairy, corn, and citrus production. The Tulare area is near the former Tulare Lake bed, traditionally one of the largest freshwater lakes in the western United States, which was drained for agriculture in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
