Terrapin is in Skidaway Island, Chatham County, in southeast Georgia. Skidaway Island is a private barrier island in Chatham County south of Savannah, largely developed as The Landings, a large gated residential community with multiple golf courses. Skidaway Island State Park also occupies a portion of the island.
