Hapuna Golf Course is an Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay design on the South Kohala coast of the Big Island, the inland companion course to the oceanside Mauna Kea Golf Course in the resort corridor that stretches between the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. The course plays through volcanic terrain in the upland zone above the coastal resort properties, incorporating lava outcroppings and native Hawaiian plantings that reflect the Big Island's volcanic geological character. Hapuna complements the older Mauna Kea course in the two-resort complex, providing a second championship routing with views of the Pacific and the Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa peaks on clear days.
