Golf in Cowarts

Cowarts is a Houston County community in the wiregrass landscape of southeast Alabama near the Dothan metropolitan area, a small rural community in the agricultural and residential corridor of one of the state's most productive wiregrass counties. The area participates in the Houston County golf market centered on Dothan, the regional commercial hub of southeast Alabama whose recreational infrastructure serves a population spread across the surrounding wiregrass communities and the adjacent areas of Georgia and Florida. The rural character of the Cowarts community and the agricultural landscape of Houston County's northern tier give this corner of the wiregrass region a quieter identity than the larger Dothan commercial center to the south.
