Golf in Rohnert Park

Rohnert Park is a planned city in Sonoma County in the Santa Rosa Plain, south of Santa Rosa along US Highway 101. The city was developed in the late 1950s and 1960s as a planned residential community on former agricultural land, with a grid street system, neighborhood parks, and integrated commercial zones. Sonoma County's central plain communities have grown as less expensive residential alternatives to the Bay Area cities to the south. Sonoma State University is located in Rohnert Park and is a significant employer and economic driver. The city has a flat, suburban character consistent with planned communities of its era. Highway 101 provides direct highway access to Santa Rosa to the north and to Novato and the Bay Area to the south. The city has seen additional commercial and residential development since its initial planning.
