Golf in Sonoma

Sonoma is a small city in Sonoma County in the southern Wine Country, in the Sonoma Valley north of San Francisco Bay. The city is centered on the Sonoma Plaza, a large public square that serves as the civic and commercial core. Sonoma County's wine regions extend from the southern Sonoma Valley north through the county, and the Sonoma area is a prominent wine-producing zone with numerous wineries on the surrounding valley floor and hillsides. The city draws wine country visitors throughout the year, with the plaza and surrounding streets offering restaurants, tasting rooms, and shops. Highway 12 connects Sonoma to the northern parts of the Sonoma Valley and to Santa Rosa, while local roads connect south toward the Carneros wine district and the Napa county line. The city has a modest permanent residential population supplemented by a large seasonal visitor presence.
