Golf in Tranquillity

Tranquillity is a small community in Fresno County in the western San Joaquin Valley, southwest of Fresno near the Westside farming region. The community occupies flat valley terrain in an area that transitions from the Fresno urban zone westward toward the more arid Westside, where irrigation depends more heavily on groundwater. Fresno County's western communities are in a drier, less intensively irrigated zone than the eastern portions of the county closer to the Sierra Nevada water sources. Tranquillity is primarily agricultural and residential with very limited commercial services. The surrounding land is used for cotton, grain, and forage crops typical of Westside farming operations. The community is accessible from State Route 33, which connects the western San Joaquin Valley communities to Highway 99 to the east and to Interstate 5 to the west. The area has a quiet, remote character relative to the more urbanized eastern valley.
