Golf in Whittier

Whittier is a city in Los Angeles County southeast of downtown Los Angeles, in the Whittier Hills and the San Gabriel Valley. The city occupies a combination of flat valley terrain and the lower Whittier Hills to the south and east. Los Angeles County's southeastern cities, including Whittier and La Mirada, have a suburban residential character with commercial development along the main arterials. The city has a traditional downtown on Greenleaf Avenue and several residential neighborhoods in the hills and valley. Whittier College is in the city and is a liberal arts institution. The Puente Hills area provides nearby open space. State Route 72 and Interstate 605 provide the main highway connections.
