Golf in Augusta-Richmond County consolidated government (balance)

Augusta-Richmond County is the consolidated city-county government formed in 1996, combining the City of Augusta with Richmond County. Augusta is Georgia's second-largest city and the home of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament, one of the four major championships in professional golf, held each April since 1934. Beyond golf, Augusta is a significant regional center anchored by Augusta University (home of the Medical College of Georgia), Fort Eisenhower (the US Army Cyber Center of Excellence), and a broad base of manufacturing, healthcare, and service employers.
