Golf in Covington

Covington is the county seat of Newton County, an outer eastern suburb of Atlanta along I-20 about forty miles from the city. The city has become widely known in the entertainment industry as a filming location for television and film productions attracted by its well-preserved antebellum courthouse square and historic neighborhoods. The Vampire Diaries filmed here for eight seasons, and numerous other productions have followed. Newton County has grown as suburban development moved eastward from Rockdale County, and Covington balances its film-town identity with its role as a traditional Georgia county seat.
