Forsyth is the county seat of Monroe County in middle Georgia, situated on I-75 between Atlanta and Macon in the Georgia Piedmont. Monroe County is an agricultural county with Forsyth serving as the commercial and governmental center and as an I-75 travel stop for the Atlanta-to-Florida corridor.
