Golf in Winder

Winder is the county seat of Barrow County in northeast Georgia, an outer eastern suburb of Atlanta along the US-316 corridor. Barrow County was largely rural until the 2000s when US-316 was upgraded to a freeway between Athens and I-85, dramatically improving access to Atlanta and Athens. The county has since grown substantially as a bedroom community for both metro areas, and Winder has a traditional courthouse square while accommodating the residential growth that has transformed Barrow County. Two golf courses serve the Winder-Barrow area.
