Golf in Wilder

Wilder is a small Canyon County agricultural community along the Snake River near the Idaho-Oregon border, where the river bends through irrigated farmland at the Treasure Valley's western edge. The community's economy depends on the Snake River Plain's canal-fed agriculture—onions, corn, hops, and field crops are grown alongside the valley's dairy and row crop operations. River Bend Golf Course takes its name from the actual river bend at this location, where riparian cottonwood and willow vegetation along the Snake provide natural definition to an otherwise flat agricultural landscape. Wilder sits close enough to the Oregon border that the Oregon Trail's historic route through this corridor is visible in the landscape's broad, open character, shaped by generations of westward movement.
