Golf in East Longmeadow

East Longmeadow is a Hampden County suburb east of Springfield along the Connecticut border, a residential community in the flat, agricultural terrain of the Connecticut River valley's eastern edge. Two courses serve the community — Franconia Golf Course and Meadow Brook Golf Club — in a town where the combination of the valley's flat topography and the Connecticut border proximity give the land use a more open, agricultural character than the Springfield suburbs to the west. Golf in East Longmeadow serves the Springfield metro's eastern residential ring, in the Pioneer Valley's Massachusetts-Connecticut border zone where the flat bottomland supports a suburban residential fabric alongside the remaining agricultural land.
