Wellesley is a Norfolk County inner suburb on the Route 9 corridor west of Boston, one of Greater Boston's most consistently affluent and deliberately maintained residential communities. Two courses serve the community — Nehoiden Golf Club at Wellesley College and Wellesley Country Club — in terrain shaped by the Charles River and the moderate upland of the inner western suburbs. Nehoiden, embedded in the college's campus, serves the academic community, while Wellesley Country Club serves the broader residential population. The combination of the college's open land and the town's conservation land has preserved a more wooded and open character than most communities this close to Route 128.
