Golf in West Newton

West Newton is a village in Newton's Middlesex County portion, in the Route 9 corridor west of Boston. Brae Burn Country Club puts 27 holes in this community, occupying a substantial piece of Newton's limited open land in a city where the Charles River and the D Branch light rail define the inner western suburban geography. The club's substantial layout makes it one of the more significant golf operations within the Route 128 ring, serving Newton's affluent and golf-aware population in one of the more compressed suburban land contexts in Greater Boston. The preserved open parcel at Brae Burn is one of the larger single consolidated open spaces in the Newton system.
