Golf in Calais

Calais is the easternmost city in the continental United States, facing Saint Stephen, New Brunswick, across the St. Croix River that forms the international border. The St. Croix Island International Historic Site — where French colonists attempted to establish a settlement in 1604, a year before the Jamestown colony — is visible from the city's waterfront. Washington County, of which Calais is the largest city, is one of the most economically challenged and geographically remote regions in Maine.
