Golf in Jonesboro

Jonesboro is a Washington County community on Chandler Bay, between the larger centers of Machias and Addison, deep in the Downeast region where Maine's coast makes its final arc toward the Canadian border. The surrounding countryside is quintessential Downeast: blueberry barrens on glacially scraped granite plains, tidal rivers, and spruce forest stretching to the Atlantic. Maine produces nearly a third of the world's wild blueberries, and much of that harvest comes from the barrens of Washington County. Barren View Golf Course's name perfectly captures the landscape — open, wind-swept, and defined by the low-bush blueberry fields that dominate the county's visual character.
