Golf in Fort Kent

Fort Kent is the northern terminus of U.S. Route 1 — the highway that begins here at the St. John River and ends 2,369 miles south in Key West, Florida. The town sits at the confluence of the Fish and St. John rivers on the New Brunswick border, deep in the St. John Valley's Acadian French-speaking community. The Allagash Wilderness Waterway begins nearby to the south, and the sense of being at a genuine frontier is inescapable. Fort Kent Golf Club's nine holes represent a real outpost of organized recreation in one of the most remote communities in the eastern United States, operating through a short but vivid northern season.
