Golf in Albion

Albion is a small Calhoun County city in south-central Michigan, home to Albion College, a liberal arts institution founded in 1844 whose history includes early commitments to racial integration in a state that was an active stop on the Underground Railroad. The college's presence gives Albion an intellectual and historical identity that distinguishes it from comparably sized agricultural communities in the region, and the combination of collegiate culture and the manufacturing heritage of a city that has had to navigate the same economic transitions as other mid-Michigan industrial communities gives Albion a complex, layered character. Duck Lake Country Club serves the lake-country residential community outside the college town proper.
