Golf in West Bloomfield

West Bloomfield is an Oakland County township that became one of Michigan's most affluent suburban communities as the Jewish community displaced from Detroit's restricted private clubs—Bloomfield Hills Country Club and others barred Jewish members through much of the postwar era—established their own clubs here. The resulting concentration of Jewish social, cultural, and religious institutions—synagogues, Jewish Community Center, Jewish-founded country clubs—has made West Bloomfield one of the most significant Jewish communities in the Midwest. Multiple golf courses serve West Bloomfield's large, affluent, and historically Jewish residential market in Oakland County.
