Golf in Townsend

Townsend is the Broadwater County seat on the Missouri River above Canyon Ferry Lake, a reservoir that provides Helena and the surrounding region with water, power, and one of Montana's most productive fisheries for walleye and trout. Old Baldy Golf Course takes its name from the prominent peak visible from the valley floor, and the course plays through terrain shaped by the river's long history of cutting through the surrounding mountains. Canyon Ferry's fishing and boating culture draws visitors who often discover the golf course on the same trip. The Big Belt Mountains to the east and the Helena Valley to the north provide a mountain frame on multiple sides.
