Golf in Spruce Pine

Spruce Pine is a small city in Mitchell County, in the NC Blue Ridge mountains in the Toe River valley. The area is known for having some of the highest-purity quartz in the world — essential for semiconductor manufacturing — making Spruce Pine an unexpectedly important industrial site despite its small size and remote mountain location. Mitchell County borders Avery County to the west and Yancey County to the south, in the high-elevation terrain of the Black Mountains and Roan Highlands.
