Golf in Carrizozo

Carrizozo is the Lincoln County seat at roughly 5,400 feet in the Tularosa Basin, a small county seat with connections to some of New Mexico's most dramatic history and landscapes. Valley of Fires Recreation Area, one of the youngest and most accessible lava flows in North America, lies just north of town. White Sands Missile Range occupies much of the basin to the south. The Billy the Kid story played out in Lincoln County during the 1870s Lincoln County War; the county seat of Lincoln, with its surviving courthouse, is 35 miles to the northeast. Valle Del Sol Golf Course provides recreational golf in a remote high-desert setting.
