Golf in Sandia Park

Sandia Park is a small community in eastern Bernalillo County at roughly 6,600 feet in the Sandia Mountain foothills, accessed via the Turquoise Trail scenic byway that connects Albuquerque to Santa Fe through a landscape of piñon-juniper woodland and old mining settlements. Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club, located here, is consistently cited among the finest layouts in New Mexico — 27 holes threading through rocky foothills terrain with panoramic views across the Rio Grande valley. The Sandia Mountains rise steeply to the west; the Ortiz Mountains and the Estancia Valley extend to the south and east. The elevation and terrain produce genuinely different conditions from the valley floor: cooler, windier, and visually dramatic in a way that makes the course's reputation easy to understand.
