Golf in Cragsmoor

Cragsmoor is a hamlet in Sullivan County in the Catskills, on the Shawangunk Ridge near the Ulster County border. The Shawangunk Mountains reach into the northern Sullivan County area, with Cragsmoor sitting on the elevated ridge terrain above the Sullivan County valleys. The area was long a summer art colony on the ridge, attracted by the sightlines and relative accessibility from New York City. Homowack Lodge Golf Course, now defunct, was a course associated with the former Homowack hotel in the Cragsmoor area of the Catskill foothills. Golf in Cragsmoor contributes to Sullivan County's recreational landscape, with the course or courses in the area serving the community in this part of New York State.
