Golf in Black Butte Ranch

Black Butte Ranch is a planned resort community in Jefferson County at the base of Black Butte, a solitary volcanic cinder cone that rises above the high desert plain at the eastern edge of the Cascades. The ranch developed around golf and outdoor recreation in an era when Central Oregon was beginning its transformation from timber economy to lifestyle destination.
