Golf in Seaside

Seaside is one of the north Oregon coast's most visited resort towns in Clatsop County, positioned at the mouth of the Necanicum River where the beach broadens and the railroad originally brought Portland vacationers at the turn of the twentieth century. The Turnaround, the historic promenade, and the city's unabashedly commercial orientation toward tourism give Seaside a different character than the quieter residential coast communities to the north and south. Golf has been part of Seaside's recreational offering for generations, and the Seaside Golf Club occupies a position within a community that organizes its public life around outdoor recreation and visitor amenities.
