Golf in Chepachet

1 golf course in Chepachet, Rhode Island.

Chepachet is the village center of Glocester in the northwestern Rhode Island highlands, known throughout the state for its concentration of antique shops and its well-preserved nineteenth-century streetscape. The Dorr Rebellion of 1842, a pivotal event in Rhode Island's constitutional history, centered partly on Chepachet, which had been designated as a rallying point for the reformers. The surrounding terrain is among the most rugged in the state, with stone walls, wooded hills, and the Ponaganset Reservoir shaping the landscape. Glocester remains sparsely populated by Rhode Island standards, making Chepachet feel genuinely rural. The Glocester Highland hiking trails and the Big River Management Area's adjacent open space complete a picture of a village that has chosen preservation over development.
