Golf in Mapleville

Mapleville is a small village in Burrillville, occupying the quiet northwestern uplands of Rhode Island near the Massachusetts border. The village takes its name from the maple trees that once defined the landscape before the textile mills transformed the Brook River valley in the nineteenth century. Today Mapleville is primarily residential, drawing families who want access to the Providence metro while living in a lower-density, forested environment. Wallum Lake, just north in the state park of the same name, provides swimming and picnic facilities for Burrillville residents. The village's rural character sets it apart from the densely settled Providence-area communities.
