Golf in Terlingua

Terlingua is a community in Brewster County in the Big Bend country of far west Texas near Big Bend National Park, one of the most remote and dramatic areas of the state on the Rio Grande. The community is known for the Terlingua International Chili Cookoff held in November, which draws thousands of visitors to this otherwise remote desert area. The ghost town remnants of the former cinnabar and quicksilver mining era sit alongside the current inhabited community. The Rio Grande and the canyon country of the Big Bend define the dramatic terrain, with the Chisos Mountains rising to the north and the Rio Grande canyon to the south. The Lajitas Golf and Resort provides one of the most remote golf experiences in Texas in this dramatic terrain. One course serves the Terlingua area in the canyon terrain of the far Trans-Pecos.
