Golf in Alpine

Alpine is the county seat of Brewster County in the Big Bend country of far west Texas, a small university town and gateway to Big Bend National Park. Alpine is home to Sul Ross State University and has an arts and culture scene disproportionate to its size, drawing artists, astronomers, and outdoor recreation enthusiasts to the high desert environment at roughly 4,500 feet elevation. The Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross documents the natural and human background of the Trans-Pecos region. Brewster County is the largest county in Texas by area, covering more square miles than several US states, with Big Bend National Park as its centerpiece. The Chihuahuan Desert and the Davis Mountains define the terrain around Alpine. One course serves this remote community.
