Golf in The Woodlands

The Woodlands is one of the most prominent master-planned communities in the United States, covering over 28,000 acres in Montgomery County north of Houston along the I-45 corridor. Developed beginning in the 1970s by George Mitchell and growing over several decades, the community has become a near-city with major corporate campuses including Chevron Phillips Chemical and Aon, an outdoor performing arts venue at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, extensive retail at the Waterway, and a carefully planned network of forest-integrated residential neighborhoods. The community has preserved substantial pine and hardwood forest within the development, fulfilling the vision of an environmentally integrated planned community. Eight courses serve The Woodlands community, including notable courses at Carlton Woods and a Tournament Course that has hosted PGA Tour events.
