Carlton Oaks Golf sits in Santee, a city in the eastern San Diego metropolitan area in the San Diego River valley east of El Cajon. Santee is positioned in the San Diego River valley above El Cajon, in the inland residential communities that extend east from the San Diego urban core toward the Cuyamaca Mountains.
