Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Course sits in Carmel Valley Village in the Carmel Valley, an inland valley in Monterey County east of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Carmel Valley extends inland from the Pacific coast through the Santa Lucia Range, following the Carmel River from its headwaters in the Ventana Wilderness to its mouth at Carmel Bay south of Monterey. The valley is warmer and sunnier than the coastal communities on the Monterey Peninsula and has developed a wine country character with vineyards and tasting rooms along the Carmel Valley Road corridor. Carmel Valley Village is the commercial center of the valley community.
