North Kern Golf Course

North Kern Golf Course sits in the Oildale area of northern Bakersfield, where the Kern River exits the mountains and spreads across the valley floor. Bakersfield is the largest city in Kern County and an important hub in the southern San Joaquin Valley, with an economy developed primarily on oil production and agriculture. The North Kern area occupies the valley floor north of the river, in a part of the city that developed alongside the oil industry that has shaped the region since the early twentieth century.
