Golf in Cobb

Cobb is a community in Lake County in the Mayacamas Mountains north of the Napa Valley, at roughly 2,700 feet elevation. The community sits on an elevated plateau above Clear Lake, in a zone where geothermal activity from the nearby Geysers area influences the local geology. Lake County sits north of Napa County and is one of the more remote counties in the North Coast region, with Clear Lake as its geographic center. The Cobb area draws residents who want a forested, mountain setting away from the congestion of the Bay Area and wine country valleys. State Route 175 connects Cobb to Lakeport, the county seat, to the north and to Highway 29 in the Napa Valley to the south. The economy in this part of Lake County is modest, with limited commercial services and a primarily residential population. The Mayacamas terrain gives Cobb a distinct character from the valley communities along Clear Lake's shores.
