Golf in Angwin

Angwin is a small community in Napa County in the Howell Mountain area east of the main Napa Valley floor, at roughly 1,800 feet elevation. The community is home to Pacific Union College, a private Adventist institution that sits on the mountain above the valley and is a significant presence in the area. Napa County's wine-growing regions extend across the valley floor and the surrounding mountain ranges, and Howell Mountain is a sub-appellation known for red wine grapes at elevation. Angwin itself has a modest population centered primarily on the college community, with limited commercial services. The surrounding terrain consists of oak and mixed forest typical of the Napa mountain zones. St. Helena, on the valley floor below, provides commercial services for the mountain communities. State Route 29 and Howell Mountain Road connect Angwin to the valley floor and the broader Napa County road network.
