Golf in Hillsborough

Hillsborough is an incorporated town in San Mateo County on the San Francisco Peninsula, between Burlingame to the north and San Mateo to the south. The town is entirely residential with no commercial district within its boundaries, a characteristic that has defined the community throughout its existence. San Mateo County's Peninsula includes several affluent residential municipalities, and Hillsborough is among the most exclusive, with large-lot development and an extremely high median household income. The town occupies elevated terrain above the Highway 101 corridor, with residential neighborhoods on the slopes and flatlands between the freeway and the foothills to the west. Residents use neighboring Burlingame and San Mateo for all commercial services. Hillsborough maintains strict zoning to preserve its residential character and has consistently remained among the wealthiest municipalities in California.
