Golf in Ukiah

Ukiah is the county seat of Mendocino County, a city in the Ukiah Valley in the Coast Range roughly 60 miles north of Santa Rosa on US Highway 101. The city occupies a narrow inland valley flanked by Coast Range ridges, where the Russian River runs south through the valley before turning west toward the coast. Mendocino County's administrative and commercial hub, Ukiah serves as the center for government, retail, healthcare, and services for a largely rural county. The local economy includes agriculture—particularly wine grapes, pears, and timber—along with county government and a growing cannabis industry. US Highway 101 provides the main north-south connection through the Ukiah Valley, linking the city to Santa Rosa and the Bay Area to the south and to the North Coast region to the north. The valley's microclimate is warmer and drier than the coast a short distance to the west.
